This story is as much about Coastal Karnataka, as about the exciting road trip that we had this winter. Coastal Karnataka is serene, tranquil and gorgeous, and largely unexplored by travelers outside of Karnataka. So, here’s an account of our exciting road trip across coastal Karnataka, from Karwar to Mangalore.
Ooty, charm of the Nilgiris, is one of the most beautiful hill stations in south India. Situated within the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve in the Western Ghat mountain ranges, both Ooty and Coonoor are almost replica of each other. If there is one archaeological complex that took my heart away it was Hampi. An extraordinary empire of medieval India that rose again like a phoenix, time and again! Situated in the south Indian state of Karnataka, Hampi is quite a marvel. History, heritage, architecture, nature, culture- all packed into a bundle of extravagance. It’s indeed a true world heritage.
“God’s own country” is not a mere slogan, rather it’s a feeling. The tranquil backwaters lined with coconut trees is a sight to behold. Combined with the unique culture of Kerala, it’s truly God’s own country. In this article, I am sharing my pick of the 5 best places to visit in south Kerala, adding my experiences.
