A little place with heritage monuments, a lovely lake, forest and gardens all around, nice boutiques and art galleries, and, of course my office. This is Hauz Khas Village- a place I’m in love with. In the middle of a busy city, Hauz Khas Village is a green oasis.

We had a wonderful time in Italy in 2018. We visited Rome, Pisa, Florence, Siena, Venice and Milan. Each of these places is unique, and I don’t like to compare places. However, if there is one place that I would definitely go back, it is Florence, the city of dreams.
England often doesn’t augur that ‘ancient cultural’ vibe as its other western neighbors. But it’s home to some of the most amazing symbols of ancient civilizations, like the Avebury ring, Hadrian’s wall, Edinburg castle and Corfe Castle. I had the opportunity of visiting two such ancient wonders- Stonehenge and Bath, in a day, in 2015.
The history of India’s stepwells goes back 3500 years, all the way to the Indus valley civilization. These are unique architectural features of medieval India; you will hardly see them elsewhere in the world. If Baths were a Greek invention, Stepwells were India’s contribution to the world architecture.
If there is one archaeological complex that took my heart away it was Hampi. An extraordinary empire of medieval India that rose again like a phoenix, time and again! Situated in the south Indian state of Karnataka, Hampi is quite a marvel. History, heritage, architecture, nature, culture- all packed into a bundle of extravagance. It’s indeed a true world heritage.
